Description	:	KOEHN, LYDIA MARIE—Lydia Marie Koehn, daughter of Ernest and Mary nee Ahrens Lentfer, was born October 1, 1897, at Fairmont. She was baptized December 26, 1897 at Grafton and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran church south of Grafton April 5, 1914. She was united in marriage to Ernest Koehn January 23, 1919 at Davenport, Ia. She was baptized December 26, 1897 at Grafton and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran church south of Grafton April 5, 1914. She was united in marriage to Ernest Koehn January 23, 1919 at Davenport, Ia. To this union were born four children, one daughter and three sons, all of whom survive. The family farmed northwest of Geneva until the passing of Mr. Koehn, who died November 20, 1950. Mrs. Koehn then moved to Geneva where she made her home. Mrs. Koehn was called to her eternal home unexpectedly Sunday morning, May 29, 1955. Death came while she was attending worship services at the Grace Lutheran church in Geneva, when she was witnessing the confirmation of a grandson, Richard Slepicka. She attained the age of 57 years 7 months and 28 days. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Lumir (Marie) Slepicka of Geneva; her sons, Hubert Koehn of Geneva. Sgt. Darrell Koehn of Madison, Wis., and S/Sgt. Marion Koehn, stationed in Japan; her aged father, Ernest Lentfer of Wilton Junction, Ia.; two sisters, Mrs. Luis Lentfer of Herman, Minn., and Mrs. Ed. Stoldorf of Davenport, Ia; one brother, Ernest Lentfer of Wilton Junction, Ia., nine grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon, June 2, at 2 o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran church near Grafton, of which the departed was a faithful member, her pastor, Rev. Otto H. Wittig, officiated. He based his address on Isaiah 57:2 "He shall enter into peace; they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness." Miss Sherrill Frieden presided at the piano and her sister Ila Mae, sang "Abide with Me" and "Rock of Ages." Pallbearers were Will Bohlen, Fred Witte, Edwin Witte, George Witte, Frank Pearson and Vernon Lauenstein. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery, Saturday morning after the arrival of a son from his overseas station. The Nebraska Signal June 9th, 1955 page 9.
