Description	:	Lydia Leischner, 90, long-time Grant County resident, died Sunday at the Jacobson Memorial Care Center at Elgin. The funeral was at 2 p.m. from the Hope Congregational Church, Elgin, with the Reverend Ted Meier officiating. Burial will be made in the Congregational Cemetery. Pallbearers were Stan Hintz, Raymond and Melvin Rauscher, Ray and Emil Vetter, and Reuben Bender. She was born May 29, 1895, at Menno, South Dakota, to Henry and Emelia (Stroscherer) Nuss. Pallbearers were Stan Hintz, Raymond and Melvin Rauscher, Ray and Emil Vetter, and Reuben Bender. She was born May 29, 1895, at Menno, South Dakota, to Henry and Emelia (Stroscherer) Nuss. In 1896 the family moved to a homestead one mile west of Old leipzig. In 1899, her father donated land on which the Ebenezer Congregational Church was established at Old Leipzig. She married Robert Leischner on December 30, 1919, at Old Leipzig. They farmed 11 miles northwest of Elgin. In 1933 they moved into Elgin where she worked as a clerk in the local stores and her husband managed a cream shipping association. When her husband died in 1966, she entered the nursing homes at Glen, Ullin, Mott and Elgin. Survivors include two brothers, Art Nuss at Carson and Ron Nuss, Spokane, Washington; three sisters, Pauline Daniels, Billings, Montana; Ann Hintz, Colinga, California; and Esther Carpenter, Fresno, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, and five sisters.
