Mrs. John Overman, Pioneer of County, Found Dead in Bed. From Wednesday's Daily. Lydia, wife of John Overman, an aged and highly respected resident of this county, passed away suddenly yesterday at the family residence, two and one-half miles southeast of the city. Mrs. Overman was found dead in bed early this morning. Yesterday she was in apparent good health, not requiring the attention of a physician. The cause of death is supposed to have been senility. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at three o'clock from the residence. Rev. C.E. Chambers, pastor of the Davis Street Christian church, will conduct the services. Interment will be made in the Overman [sic] cemetery. Mrs. Overman was a native of Washington county, Ohio, where she was born 84 years ago. She had been a resident of this city since 1865. Early in life she became affiliated with the Christian church, and has for many years been a consistent member of the Davis street church. She is survived by her husband and one brother, J.R. The services conducted by Rev. C.E. Chambers, were conducted by Rev. C.E. Chambers [sic-repeated in obit], pastor of the Davis street Christian church, of which the deceased was a member. The interment was made in Shaul cemetery.
