Schleiter, 97, formerly of 611 Kellogg Ave, and 1112 Lincoln Way, died Tuesday in Minneapolis, Minn. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Laurence L. Garrett of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery. Mrs. Schleiter, born July 8, 1874 at Afton, Wis., lived nearly her entire life in Ames. She received her education at Ames High School, was a member of the United Church of Christ (Congregational) and active in the Red Cross.... Garrett of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery. Mrs. Schleiter, born July 8, 1874 at Afton, Wis., lived nearly her entire life in Ames. She received her education at Ames High School, was a member of the United Church of Christ (Congregational) and active in the Red Cross. She was a chartered member of the Book and Basket Club, and the Kappa Delta Mothers Club. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Henry Schroeder, Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Ruth Feddersen, Des Moines; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter; and her husband, Frank, who was Mayor of Ames for 10 years and at the time of his death in 1943 was president of the Union Story Trust and Savings Bank. The body will lie in state at the Adams Funeral Home, Friday until the time of service.
