Read More	FORMER ALBION WOMAN DIED AT HOSPITAL Mrs. Axel Anderson of St. Edward Passed Away At Columbus Wednesday Mrs. Axel Anderson departed this life Wednesday, February 26, at the Lutheran hospital in Columbus, at the age of 62 years, one month and 26 days. She had not been in good health for some time and for several weeks had been receiving treatment at the hospital. Lydia Wilhelmina Anderson was born December 30, 1878, at DeKalb, Illinois. She was the daughter of Sven Johan and Lena Maria Olson, who had emigrated to this country from Sweden. Lydia was baptized in the Lutheran church June 7, 1879, at the place of her birth. In March 1887 her parents moved to the Salem community in Platte county where she enjoyed the services and the instruction of the Salem Lutheran church. There she was confirmed by Pastor C. F. Granere on May 6, 1894. On the 29th day of May, 1906, she was united in marriage with Axel Edward Anderson. Following their marriage they lived on a farm in the Salem community until the spring of 1922 when they moved to Albion. In May 1936 Mr. and Mrs. Anderson moved to St. Edward to make their home. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and one brother. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Axel Anderson, one daughter, Marian, two brothers, Albert and Victor Olson, and one sister, Mrs. Ernest Carlson, all of the Salem community, also 12 nieces, nine nephews and a host of friends. Short services were held at the home in St. Edward at 1:30 Sunday afternoon, followed by services at Zion Lutheran church in Albion at 2:30. Miss Blanche Abbott sang, "Abide With Me," at the home service. Rev. Beckmann used the text found in the second and third verses, chapter fourteen of St. John, the favorite passage of Mrs. Anderson. Rev. Beckmann was assisted by Rev. Anderson, of Newman Grove, who gave a short message of condolence preceding the sermon. Kenneth Hawkes, of St. Edward, sang, "Crossing the Bar," and a quartet sang "Rock of Ages" and "In the Cross". These hymns were special favorites of the deceased. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery at Albion, the remains being borne to the last resting place by George Lenore, Harry Gustafson, Lawrence Karabel, Algot Niklasson, Louis B.
