Lyene Marie Pierce was the daughter of Royal B and Marie M Warner Pierce. She attended and graduated from Woodward High School. Lyene then moved to Biloxi, Mississippi and began working at the Air Force Base in Civil Service. She married Larry C Schroedter on May 3, 1957 in Biloxi, Mississippi. Larry was also stationed at the Air Force Base. To this union four daughters were born, Dena, Annette, Janet and Sandy. They moved to Ogden, Iowa, where she was a housewife and mother. She also helped Larry on the farm. They moved to Montezuma in 1978 where Lyene became very active in her church and bible study. She held several jobs including being a preschool teacher and working at Sandy's Soda Fountain where she loved being around children. Lyene enjoyed playing dominoes, coffee time with friends, attending school activities and was a faithful visitor at the nursing home. She was a member of the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She served as an Elder, a Deacon and was the President of the Presbyterian Women for many years. Faith and family were very important to her. She was also a member of the PEO, the Montezuma Country Club and several card clubs.
