Lyla was born Aug. 10, 1946 in Bismarck, the daughter of Gilbert and Esther (Brogden) Sayler, her mother being from the Temvick/Hazelton area. She was raised and educated in Underwood, graduating in 1964. She graduated from Bismarck Junior College in 1965 and married Ronald L. Kraft from Wing in November. They had two children. She began employment with the State of North Dakota in 1965, working there for 15 years, 1965 thru 1979; State Tax Department, Data Entry Supervisor, transferred to Central Data Processing, librarian, transferred to the Regional Environmental Assessment Program, System Coordinator, and published documents and papers for the U.S. Department of Energy. She returned to college in 1979, at the University of Mary, obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1984. She became a member in both the Sageway Honor Society of Nursing and the National Nurses Honor Society and taught First Aid/CPR night classes at the Bismarck Junior College. From 1982 thru 1987, she was active as a Parent Advisory Council member and PAC Chairperson of fund raising at Saxvik Elementary School. After graduating from the University of Mary in 1984, Lyla was employed at the local hospitals as a Coronary Care Registered Nurse and received the Higher Standard Award of Excellence. She started a used furniture store on Rosser Ave. continuing both jobs as an RN and running the shop until 1995, when moving the used furniture shop to Summit Blvd. Her husband joined her in 1990, giving up his job as manager of the Mandan Goodyear Tire Shop to take over the business which both continued to work together until recent health failure. She then moved to Houston, Texas, for a short time and participated in clinical trials. Lyla enjoyed her family, friends, family pets, her work, collecting antiques and meeting all the people in their business. She will miss and be missed by family, friends and business acquaintances who survive and love her. She is survived by her husband, , one son, one daughter, her mother, one brother, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Sayler; her stepfather, Herbert Horst; and one brother, Trenton Sayler. ==============================
