Description	:	Lyle Andrew Becht passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Sanford Medical Center. A private family viewing will be held. Interment will be scheduled in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude's Children Research. He was born in Webster, South Dakota to Lambert and Loretta (Kirchmeier) Becht. He graduated from high school In Webster and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served for 24 years. He later became an expert finishing carpenter and ended his career with the maintenance department of the South Dakota State Penitentiary. He graduated from high school In Webster and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served for 24 years. He later became an expert finishing carpenter and ended his career with the maintenance department of the South Dakota State Penitentiary. Lyle was a dedicated family man happily married to Mary Jane (Cook) Becht for 54 years. They enjoyed a happy life traveling around the world with the Air Force and raising their family. They were stationed at Lockbourne AFB, OH, where they were married, then Anderson, AFB, Guam, Langley AFB, VA, Loring AFB, ME, Ramstein AFB, Germany and finally Grand Forks AFB, ND. He retired from the Air Force to Rapid City, SD where he honed his carpentry skills as a finishing carpenter. They later moved to Sioux Falls, SD where he finished his career at the State Penitentiary. Lyle was a very talented carpenter and enjoyed building and updating his home. Whether it was quilting with Jane or building a deck, he was always working on a project. He could also always be counted on to help his family with their home improvement projects too. Lyle loved camping and they spent several winters escaping the South Dakota winter and exploring new, warmers places around the US in their RV. Lyle is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Becht, and 3 children, Phillip Becht, Erika Becht Dooley (Sean), and Tonya Bescheinen (David), 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; as well as 2 brothers, Leo (and Barbara) Becht of Coeur d'Alene, ID, and Loren (and Tina) Becht of Indianapolis, IN. Lyle is preceded in death by his parents Loretta and Lambert Becht, and 3 brothers, LeRoy Becht, Larry Becht and Louis Becht.
