Lyle was born July 4, 1927 at St. Paul, Nebraska to B.B. and Merle (Hessler) Klinginsmith. Lyle was raised in St. Paul, Nebraska and attended St. Paul (NE.) Public Schools. Lyle then joined the U.S. Navy and served with the Seabees. After receiving his discharge, he returned to St. Paul, Nebraska. Lyle was born July 4, 1927 at St. Paul, Nebraska to B.B. and Merle (Hessler) Klinginsmith. Lyle was raised in St. Paul, Nebraska and attended St. Paul (NE.) Public Schools. Lyle then joined the U.S. Navy and served with the Seabees. After receiving his discharge, he returned to St. Paul, Nebraska. Lyle was united in marriage to Ella Rasmussen on May 28, 1948 in St. Paul, Nebraska. The couple lived in St. Paul, Nebraska where he first worked at his father's tavern. He then was employed for the State Department of Roads for many years, a job from which he retired. Lyle also worked nights at the American Legion Club and Paul's Supper Club, St. Paul, Nebraska. He enjoyed playing cards and trips to Las Vegas. Lyle was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 for 66 years, both of St. Paul, Nebraska. He was also a member of the St. Paul (NE.) Masonic Lodge #82 AF & AM. Lyle is survived by: sons and daughter-in-law, Bill and Doris Klinginsmith of Grand Island, Nebraska and David Klinginsmith of St. Paul, Nebraska; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Larry White of North Loup, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Emma Nelson of Grand Island, Nebraska and a host of family and friends. Lyle is preceded in death by: parents; wife, Ella Klinginsmith on May 6, 2001; and sisters, Darlene Muller, Nellie Gladfelter and infant sister. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, St. Paul, Nebraska. The flag will be presented by the Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul, Nebraska.
