He was born March 7, 1915, to William Russell and Etta (Aldridge) Higgins, at Chelan. He attended school at Chelan and graduated from Chelan High School in 1931. Read More	LYLE BEECHER `BUTCH' HIGGINS - Tuesday - March 29, 1994 CHELAN - Lyle Beecher "Butch" Higgins, 79, a lifelong resident of Chelan, died Monday, March 28, 1994, in Lake Chelan Community Hospital. He was born March 7, 1915, to William Russell and Etta (Aldridge) Higgins, at Chelan. He attended school at Chelan and graduated from Chelan High School in 1931. He then attended the University of Washington where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in pre-law. Following graduation, he returned to Chelan where he owned and operated an auto service station. He married Hazel Nichols on April 14, 1938, at Chelan. Mr. Higgins then returned to the University of Washington where he received his law degree in 1940, graduating second in his class. He then returned to Chelan where he began his law practice. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He attained the rank of lieutenant and served as commander aboard a landing craft. Following his discharge, he returned to Chelan where he resumed his law practice. David R. Hellyer joined him in his practice in 1974, and Mr. Higgins retired in 1977. He was a member of Theta Chi fraternity, Rotary, Chelan Eagles, Wenatchee Elks and the Washington State Bar Association. He helped form the original golf club at what is now the Chelan City Park. He is survived by his wife, of the home; two sons, James of Auburn and Ben of Chelan; two daughters, Kay Frymier of Gig Harbor, and Toni Berry of Chelan; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Arrangements are by Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
