Description	:	Lyle G. Hill, 68, of South Whitley, died at 9:14 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at his home. He was born January 17, 1946 in Wolf Lake, Indiana a son of Earl L. and Aileen M. (Goodrich) Hill. His formative years were spent in Etna Troy Township, Whitley County. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1965. On June 1, 1965 he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged April 1, 1971. Hill, 68, of South Whitley, died at 9:14 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at his home. He was born January 17, 1946 in Wolf Lake, Indiana a son of Earl L. and Aileen M. (Goodrich) Hill. His formative years were spent in Etna Troy Township, Whitley County. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1965. He was employed at Klingaman Welding & Repair, Waugh Drainage, Moose Lodge and lastly PTG. His memberships included AmVets #2919 in South Whitley and American Legion Post #160 in Roanoke. Surviving relatives include four children, Kyle G. (Amy) Hill of North Webster, Dana L. Hill of Fort Wayne, Stepheni Klabon (Mike) Clifford of Columbia City and Tiffani Klabon Sparks of Columbia City; eight grandchildren, Hannah Hill, Amelia Hill, Casey Elliott, Lewis Elliott, Stephen Elliott, Parker Elliott, Madison Elliott and Andrew Elliott; a brother, Kent Hill of Columbia City; two sisters, Sheila Schilling of Columbia City and Jennelle Meredith of Fort Wayne; and companion, Sheila Busenbark of South Whitley. His parents preceded him in death. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation after Noontime. The burial will be in Thorn Cemetery, Ormas with military honors presented. Preferred memorials are to the final expense account payable to Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
