Lyle graduated from high school in Osmond. In 1946, he moved with his parents to Pierce. On Jan. 17, 1948, he married Esther E. Dommer. Wiese, 75, died Tuesday, October 21, 2003, at Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman. Lyle was born Dec. 8, 1927, to Henry and Margaretha (Mumm) Wiese in Bloomfield. Lyle graduated from high school in Osmond. In 1946, he moved with his parents to Pierce. On Jan. 17, 1948, he married Esther E. Dommer. In 1960, he began a lifelong career of brand inspector for the State of Nebraska. In 1965, his position transferred him and his family to Benkelman. In 1973, he and his son, Brad, opened B&L Feed Store, which they operated until 1993. He worked as a deputy with the Dundy County Sheriff's Department, he was sexton and caretaker of the Benkelman Cemetery in 1978 for ten years, he and his family ran the sale barn from 1975-1978, and in his spare time, he and his wife mowed, watered and maintained the city park, ball diamond and the grounds surrounding city buildings. Lyle was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Benkelman, he served on the church council, he was a member of the Benkelman Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years, the Benkelman City Council Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond and Alvin Wiese; sister, Bernice; daughter-in-law, Trudy; grandchild, Christa; and great-grandchild, Madison. Survivors are: wife, Esther Wiese; sons, Rod and wife, Lana Wiese, Larry and wife Carol Wiese, Brad and wife, Sherri Wiese, Scott and wife, Deb Wiese, all of Benkelman and Kip and wife, Deonn Wiese of St. Francis; daughter, Bonnie and husband, Bob Willis of Benkelman; sisters, Marie McFarland of Norfolk, Delilah Beltz of Pierce and Adeline Backer of Laramie, Wyo.; sisters-in-law, Olivette Wiese of Willington, Calif., and Evelyn Wiese of Lark Park, Iowa; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
