Description	:	Lyle Jay Fox was born February 19, 1936 south of Atkinson on what was known back then as the Lee Ranch. He was the eleventh child of fourteen born to Charles and Elizabeth Fox. Lyle grew up on the family ranch and worked for the Fox Haying Company. He attended grade school in Emmet and graduated from O’Neill High School in 1953. He was the eleventh child of fourteen born to Charles and Elizabeth Fox. Lyle grew up on the family ranch and worked for the Fox Haying Company. He attended grade school in Emmet and graduated from O’Neill High School in 1953. Lyle went to Hastings College for two and a half years and Wayne State College for one semester before joining the military in 1956. Lyle served in the U. S. Navy from 1956 to 1959. He had a four-year break in service and reenlisted in 1963 for an additional four years. He spent much of his time stationed at Pearl Harbour and as a sailor on the submarine, the USS Bashaw. In 1958, Lyle married Evelyn “Evie” Davis in Norwalk, California. They made their home in many places but spent most of their lives in the Atkinson and O’Neill area. Lyle worked the hay fields and several odd jobs until settling in as an electronic technician in both the Navy and at AT&T from 1968 to 1990 when he retired and moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas. After 18 years they returned to Atkinson in 2007. Lyle enjoyed golfing, fishing, visiting “talking,” reading, and watching sports on television. He was generous to family, friends, and numerous charities. Lyle is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Fox, brothers, Leonard, Wayne, Gilbert, Chuck, and Bob; sisters, Esther, Marie, Carol, and infant. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn and their children, Doug of Deridder, Louisiana, Dan (Lisa) of Stratton, NE, and Teddy (Karen) of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren Benjamin, Marcus, Hailey and Hunter Fox. Sisters Opal Bosn of O'Neill and Ruby Belzer of O'Neill; Twin Brother Larry Fox and his wife Hilda of Atkinson, Gordon Fox of O'Neill, and Raymond Fox and wife Georgia of Bella Vista, AR.
