Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Rhoad Funeral Home chapel in Sargent. Fred Cram will officiate. Burial will be in Madison Square Cemetery with military rites. Mr. Dilsaver was born May 10, 1925, on his parents' homestead in Loup County to Frank M. and Ruby A. (Moser) Dilsaver. He grew up on the family homestead and attended Madison Square Grade School. He graduated from Loup County High School in 1942. After graduating he moved to Torrington, Wyo., where he worked as a farm hand until entering the U.S. Navy in 1944. He served as a gunner on a torpedo boat in the South Pacific. After being discharged in 1946, he returned to Loup County and farmed on the homestead with his father. He married Ione A. Hoins on Jan. 16, 1948, in Ord. The couple lived and farmed in Madison Square. He was a lifetime member of Benhart-Klapal American Legion Post 104 and Clements VFW Post 6159, served as Loup County Commissioner and on the Madison Square School Board in Taylor. In August 2001, he received the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Family Award. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing cards. Survivors include a daughter, Diane Dilsaver of Taylor; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Vickie of Bog Springs and Duane and Linda of Reno, Nev.; a foster son, Jim Hoobler of Spring Valley, Calif.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother and sister-in-law, Ivan and Edith of Wichita, Kan. He was preceded in death by his wife and a son, Douglas. The Grand Island Independent, Febr. 14, 2002
