Description	:	Funeral services for Lyle W. Wacker age 87 of Osmond will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 18th at the Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Plainview, Visitation for Lyle Wacker will be from 6-8 PM Thursday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview. Military Honors will be by Plainview American Legion and VFW. Lyle William Wacker was born on October 9, 1926 at Foster, NE to William C. and Bertha (Mosel) Wacker. He was baptized on November 11, 1926 at Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview. He attended country school #67 through the sixth grade and was confirmed on March 17, 1940. He graduated from the eighth grade from Plainview High School in 1944. Lyle served in U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas from 1950-52. After his time in the Army, he returned to Foster to farm with his father and brother until he decided to farm on his own. He raised hogs, corn, oats, beans and red clover. He retired from farming in 1992. He was an Allis Chalmers enthusiast and sold vintage decals. He enjoyed restoring old tractors and implements as well as going to tractor and steam shows. He married the love of his life, Carol Volk, on September 27, 1959 in Plainview. They have resided on the family farm near Foster. They were blessed with three children: Jane (deceased), Tim and Steve. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2009. He is survived by his beloved wife Carol; sons Tim Wacker and wife, Ranae of Plainview; Steve and wife, Kristine of Osmond; brother Larry Wacker and wife Marlene of Osmond, and three grandchildren, Brittani, Carissa and Ashley Wacker of Osmond.
