Deceased was born in Schoharrie County, N.Y., in 1830, where he grew to manhood. Removed from there to Iowa with his family in 1870, and from there to Ottawa County, Kansas, in 1878, where he resided until the time of his death. Deceased was an upright, industrious man, highly esteemed by his neighbors and friends. Deceased was born in Schoharrie County, N.Y., in 1830, where he grew to manhood. Removed from there to Iowa with his family in 1870, and from there to Ottawa County, Kansas, in 1878, where he resided until the time of his death. Deceased was an upright, industrious man, highly esteemed by his neighbors and friends. Being unable to speak some time before he died, he, however, seemed to realize that the "crossing" was near, yet it not disturb him, and he passed away peacefully without a struggle as though going to sleep. Father Brewster had been a consistent member of the Baptist church the greater part of his life. The funeral services were held at the church of that denomination in this place, conducted by Rev. Tucker, after which he was laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery. He leaves a wife and family of children, all grown, who deeply mourn his loss; and while we drop the tear of sympathy with the bereaved friends yet we mourn not as those who have no hope. He has gone from the church militant to the church triumphant. The family wish to extend to all the neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted them during the long hours of watching, their heartfelt thanks.
