Read More	Monticello Express - October 3, 1907 Obituary of Lyman Osborn Lyman Osborn was born in Orleans County, New York, May 20, 1827, and lived with his parents on a farm until September, 1848, when he moved west to Racine, Wisconsin. On June 14th, 1849 he was married to Miss Mary Asher of Racine, Wisconsin. In the spring of 1853 they moved to Green Lake county, Wisconsin. He served his country during the last year of the civil war as a private in company I of the 47th regiment Wisconsin volunteers and received an honorable discharge at the close of the war. In 1867 he moved to Clay township, Jones county, Iowa. His wife, Mary Asher Osborn, died May 26th, 1870, leaving her husband and five children to mourn her loss. Three of whom survive the deceased and being Orren Osborn of California, Merritt Osborn of Minnesota and Mrs. Lucy McMaster of Onslow, Iowa. On November 17, 1875, at Johnsontown, in this county he was married to Mrs. Mary E. Page, who died at Onslow, June 15th, 1895. After her death, Mr. Osborn made his home most of the time with the children or grandchildren. He was quiet but most affable man, pleasant and much liked and respected by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. He was a member of the Presbyterian church of Onslow. In his alter days he was at this place a considerable portion of his time, making his home with his daughter, the late Mrs. A. N. Reade, who departed this life recently. After her demise he went Philip, South Dakota, to visit a grand-daughter, Mrs. Jessie Arnold, where he was taken sick but recovering to some degree he wished to return home. His son-in-law, A. N. Reade, went to Philip to accompany him home. When they reached Cedar Rapids he was failing rapidly, and they took him to St. Luke's Hospital where he departed this life, Saturday, September 11th, 1907. His remains were brought to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lucy McMaster at Onslow, and funeral services held on Tuesday afternoon and his remains deposited in the North Madison cemetery, the Rev. S.
