Interment - Trenton Cemetery. ************** Lyman Street Hall, a son of Charles P. and Madora Hall, was born at Elmwood, Cass County, Nebraska and departed this life at a McCook, Nebraska hospital on July 18, 1958. He was born February 12, 1878, and died at the age of 80 years, 5 months, and 18 days. On February 17, 1898, he was united in marriage to Harriet Elizabeth Schlanker at Elmwood, and they established their home and continued to live there until 1903 when they moved to Hitchcock County, Nebraska which has been their home ever since. Four children came to bless their home, one son Charles D. of Culbertson and four daughters, Junetta Seybold of Cambridge, Sarah Jane of Culbertson, Madora J. Schmidt, who died in 1937. Stanley I. Schmidt, the grandson whom they raised as their son after the death of his parents, still makes his home with them. His wife Elizabeth and these children except Mrs. Schmidt survive him and are here today. There are 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his brothers Elmer James, Eugene F., and Myrl P. of Elmwood, Nebraska, Waitsil R. of Unadilla, Nebraska and two sisters, Mrs. Flora I. Schick of Elmwood and Mrs. Julia Ann Luff of Unadilla. Lyman was a successful, progressive farmer, devoted to his home and his family, beloved by his friends and neighbors. He was affiliated with Trenton Congregational Church and took an active part in school and community affairs and will be greatly missed by all his associates. The stream is calmest when it nears the tide; And flowers are sweetest at the eventide. And birds most musical at close of day; and previous loved ones pass away.
