Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2018 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Watertown with Pastor Paul Janke officiating. Lyndren Eileen Kuhlman was born on November 18, 1931 to Maurice R. and Celesta (Norton) Johnson in Henry, SD. Lyndren grew up on the family farm near Thomas, SD. She attended school in Thomas and graduated from Thomas High School in 1949. On September 10, 1950, Lyndren was united in marriage to Donald L. Kuhlman at Thomas Methodist Church. The two were blessed with 67 happy years of marriage. Lyndren worked at Midland National Life Insurance while Donald was stationed in Germany. After his return, the couple bought the Owen Barr farm in 1954 where they raised their family. Lyndren was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Grover where she sang in the choir and was an active member of Ladies Aid. When Emmanuel closed in 2004, she joined St. Martin's where she attended faithfully and participated in Ladies Mission. Lyndren deeply enjoyed spending time with her friends, some of whom were a part of a group called the Chattering Chicks. She loved spending time with her family, traveling with Donald to visit family and friends, hosting holidays, and entertaining grandchildren throughout the years. Lyndren was well known for her delicious home cooked meals and freshly baked goods. She will be remembered for many things, among them her quick wit, giving heart, beauty, and God-fearing life. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Donald, of Hazel, and her three sons: Brian (Glenda) Kuhlman, Todd Kuhlman, Karl (Heide) Kuhlman all of Watertown. Her ten grandchildren: Zachary (Claire) Kuhlman of Fargo, ND, Matthew Kuhlman (Elizabeth Viergutz), Rachel Kuhlman both of Watertown, Jeffery Kuhlman of TX, Chloe Kuhlman, Ryan Kuhlman both of Watertown. Daniel Moffenbier of Sioux City, IA, Nicholas (Katherine) Moffenbier of Slayton, MN, Hannah Moffenbier of Aberdeen, SD, and Eric Kuhlman of Watertown. Her one great-grandchild: Avery Lyndren Moffenbier. Brother: Ronald (Kaye) Johnson of Watertown. Sisters-In-laws: Cokey Johnson of Henry, SD, Gayle Johnson of Alexandria, MN.
