Lynn was born July 25, 1938, to Charles and Grace Hansen in Rockwell, Iowa, the youngest of three children. Lynn devoted his career to the country; he worked on the Apollo mission and certified submarines for the U.S. Navy. He grew up in Iowa, went to undergraduate at Iowa State and achieved a master's degree from Harvard. Read More	HANSEN, Lynn Larry, 80, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018, at his home in Glen Allen, Virginia. Lynn was born July 25, 1938, to Charles and Grace Hansen in Rockwell, Iowa, the youngest of three children. Lynn devoted his career to the country; he worked on the Apollo mission and certified submarines for the U.S. Navy. He grew up in Iowa, went to undergraduate at Iowa State and achieved a master's degree from Harvard. Apart from his career, Lynn enjoyed spending time outside with biking, pickle ball and water volleyball. Lynn is survived by his dear friend, Ann Voorhis; children, Lena (John) Moeller, Marty (Patti) Hansen, Kylie (Bill) Johnson, Challie (Jeff) Deibel, Toby (Allison) Hansen, Erin Hansen; and their mother, Gail Wollenberg; grandchildren, Ryan, Sean, Liz, Naomi, Ever, Georgia, Arleigh and Roland. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Claire and Ross. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Bliley's Funeral Home, 8510 Staples Mill Road, where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Pleasant View Cemetery in Thornton, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross at www.redcross.org.
