Bertschinger, 91, of Creighton were held on Thursday, September 14, 2000 at St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton Father Keith Rezac officiated the 10:30 a.m. service with interment in St. Ludger Cemetery. Musical selections were accompanied by organist, Marlene Wilmes and vocalist, Amy Williams. Pallbearers were Bill Mayes, Don George, Jodi Blagburn, Maria Strope, Cindy Rassayy and Josh Strope. She attended Center High School in Center. She married Wallace Bertschinger on February 10, 1930 at Martin, SD. Four children were born to them, Alton, Altalane, James and Connie. The couple lived in Creighton all of their married lives. She was a member of St. Ludger Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and the 4-K Club. She passed away September 11, 2000 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton at age 91. Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, Alton and Barb of Hill City, SD and Jim and Barb of Creighton; two daughters and their husbands, Altalane and Ted Mayes of Creighton and Connie and Jay Hutton of Big Horn, WY; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margarite McPherson of Port Orchard, WA. She was preceeded in death by a sister, Marie Emerick.
