Description	:	Alzoa McNichols, 92, of Creston, passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 at the Crest Haven Care Center in Creston. M. Alzoa McNichols was born on April 1, 1916 in Clarke County, near Osceola, Iowa to Effie Elizabeth (Bechtel) and Walter Abner Roberts. She grew up in the Osceola area; attended country school, Junior and Senior High School in Osceola and graduated from Osceola High school in 1932. She attended Osceola Junior College for two years. Alzoa McNichols was born on April 1, 1916 in Clarke County, near Osceola, Iowa to Effie Elizabeth (Bechtel) and Walter Abner Roberts. She grew up in the Osceola area; attended country school, Junior and Senior High School in Osceola and graduated from Osceola High school in 1932. She attended Osceola Junior College for two years. After graduation, Alzoa taught country school for three years. On June 6, 1937, she was united in marriage to Merle Lee McNichols in Osceola, Iowa and lived in Chariton for a short time. They moved to Creston, Iowa in 1937 and lived here until 1969 when they moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa. After Merle's death June 4, 1973, she moved back to Creston in 1974. Alzoa was a homemaker. Alzoa was a member of the United Methodist Church in Creston. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the White Shine, the neighborhood W.N.G. Club and a bridge club. Alzoa is survived by two sons; Lee (wife Sandy) McNichols of Creston, David (wife Carolyn) McNichols of West Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter; Marlene (husband Tom) Adamson of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Jean (husband Lowell) Routh, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle, on June 4, 1973, her parents, two brothers, Cassel B. Roberts and Woodrow Roberts.
