Genealogical Society Scrapbook A, page 279, Keosauqua Public Library; Keosauqua, IA Mrs. Arthur Craig Mabel DeHart, daughter of Thomas and Margaret DeHart was born May 3, 1879, and passed away at the family home near Keosauqua, July 11, 1946 at the age of 67 years, 2 months, and 8 days. On November 26, 1902 she was united in marriage to William A. Craig of near Keosauqua. To this union seven children were born: Harvey and Charles, Mrs. Mary Barr and Mrs. Helen Barr, all of Meridian, Calif., Mrs. Dorothy Elliott of Keosauqua and Carl of the home; also one son who died in infancy. Mrs. Craig confessed Christ and became a member of the Christian church when quite young. She was true and faithful to the Christian church and in Christian service. She was church organist and pianist for 50 years. She was a true wife and mother, loving and faithful in her service to her husband, home and family. Besides her immediate family and her husband, she leaves to mourn their loss, two brothers; Sherman Dehart of Sacramento, Calif., and T.E. (Junior) DeHart of Des Moines, Iowa; and two sisters; Mrs. Fred White of Ames, Iowa, and Mrs. James Duffield and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Burnett Funeral Home, Saturday, July 13, at 2 p.m. the Rev. A.M. Hadley in charge. Music was by Keith Gaston, with Ruth Gaston as pianist. Interment was made in the Fellows Cemetery. Pallbearers were Arthur Casady, Raymond Huff, Otto Burchett, William Bishop, Glenn Elliott and Arthur Hogue. ******************************************** "The Means Family of America" Genealogy Book.
