Description	:	Mabel Estelle Walkup, daughter of John and Nancy Walkup, was born May 19, 1874, at Morrison, Ill. She died at Redding, Cal. March 2, 1949. In 1891 she was united in marriage to Charles Kleinschrodt. They were the parents of eight children, seven of whom survive. After the death of her husband, in 1906, Mrs. Kleinschrodt and her family of small children moved to Exeter to be near her mother. In 1910 she was married to Joe Redfern and to this union three children were born. Mr. Redfern passed away on August 27, 1927. After the death of her husband, in 1906, Mrs. Kleinschrodt and her family of small children moved to Exeter to be near her mother. In 1910 she was married to Joe Redfern and to this union three children were born. Mr. Redfern passed away on August 27, 1927. About thirty hears ago the Redfern family left Exeter. After making their home in Missouri for a short while, they moved to California. In Exeter, Mrs Redfern was a member of the Congregational Church, but in California she joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Oakland. During the past two years she visited at the homes of all her children. At the time of her death she was at the home of her youngest son, Wayne Redfern. Mrs. Redfern leaves nine children; Herbert L. Kleinschrodt of York; Mrs. Pearl Melroy of Holdrege; Jerome C. Kleinschrodt of McFadden, Wyo.; Ear. R. Kleinschrodt of Eureka, Cal.; Mrs. Ruby Smelser, Oakland, Cal.; Mrs. Eunice Adams, St. Louis, Mo., Richard Kleinschrodt of Boyne Falls, Mich., Harold Redfern of Redding, Cal.; three brothers, James Walkup, Fredonia, Kas., Walter Walkup, Miami, Fla., and Russel Walkup, Webster Grove, Mo.; twenty-six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Farmer Funeral home at Exeter Monday afternoon with interment in the Exeter Cemetery. Rev. L. A. Fishel was in charge of the services.
