Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Mabel was born June 2, 1916, in Rosalie, Neb., the daughter of George E. and Cora A. (Ray) Parrish. She grew up in the Walthill, Neb., area. She lived in Walthill, Sioux City and South Sioux City. She was employed with Zenith Manufacturing in Sioux City. She married Harry Nelson on Aug. 26, 1937, in Tekamah, Neb. He died April 3, 1959, in Sioux City. She then married Louis Kobernus on Nov. 26, 1970. He died Feb. 29, 1984, in Sioux City. She was of the Methodist faith. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Carl and Margaret Nelson of Westfield, Iowa, and Donald and June Nelson of Fremont, Neb.; a daughter and her husband, Betty and Donald Patton of Orem, Utah; two brothers, Rolland Parrish of Omaha, and Lawrence Parrish of Sergeant Bluff; three sisters, Opal Roberts of Sioux City, and Bessie Nelson and Emma Bagley, both of South Sioux City; eight grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Harold and Dale Nelson; three brothers, Cecil, Elzy and Earl Parrish; sisters, Barbara in infancy and Iva Teeters; and a grandson. Pallbearers will be Rick, Danny, Donnie and David Nelson, Chris Howard and Anthony Nelson. Memorials in her name may be directed to the South Sioux City Volunteer Fire Department.
