Mabel graduated from High School in Lake City, Iowa graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa with a B.S. in Home Economics. She married Charles Flint in 1949. Read More	Mabel Irene Bussard, age 87, daughter of Melvin and Mary (White) Wilson, was born January 2, 1926 in Paton, Iowa. She passed away on October 17, 2013 in Houston, MO. Mabel graduated from High School in Lake City, Iowa graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa with a B.S. in Home Economics. She married Charles Flint in 1949. They adopted two children Toby and Suzanne. Charles died in 1979. In 1989 she married Bob Bussard, who also preceded her in death. In addition to her husbands, Charles and Bob, she was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Suzanne; four brothers, Erwin, Walter, Ted, and Richard; three sisters, Mildred, Marion, and Helen. She is survived by her son Toby Flint and wife Pat of Ponchatoula, LA; one granddaughter Jenny and great grandson, Joshua Flint; two step-daughters, Karol Kay Hanson and husband Donald of Licking, MO and Katheryn Witcher and husband Ed of Coral Springs, FL; one sister, Marjorie Webster of Bergenfield, NJ; many other relatives and friends made through the years. Mabel worked as an Extension Agent for several Universities. She loved her job and was very professional. She was a source of information and help for many individuals in the area. She often went over and beyond what was necessary making sure that many people found the help, support and resources they needed to often just survive. She cared so much for people that she also took on the role of counselor, listening, encouraging and taking an active part in directing her people in the right direction. Mabel was a wonderful wife and Mother. Her home was an oasis for family and friends. She was a loving and giving person who always had an open door to those in the family and anyone else needing help or a listening ear. Burial: The body was cremated and will be inurned at Dawson Township Cemetery, Jefferson, Iowa
