Description	:	Mabel Lillian (Pederson) White Thiele was born March 11, 1894 at Dubuque, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eston Pederson. Her mother died in childbirth and she was immediately adopted by Samuel and Minnie White and grew up in and around the communities of Strawberry Point, Arlington, Fayette and Maynard; in which towns she also received her education. She was baptized as a child into the Methodist faith and became a member of the Maynard Methodist Episcopal church as a young adult and retained her membership in that church until her death on Friday, July 27, 1973. On November 26, 1919... Read More	Mabel Lillian (Pederson) White Thiele was born March 11, 1894 at Dubuque, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eston Pederson. Her mother died in childbirth and she was immediately adopted by Samuel and Minnie White and grew up in and around the communities of Strawberry Point, Arlington, Fayette and Maynard; in which towns she also received her education. She was baptized as a child into the Methodist faith and became a member of the Maynard Methodist Episcopal church as a young adult and retained her membership in that church until her death on Friday, July 27, 1973. On November 26, 1919 she was united in marriage to W. G. Thiele and to this union two sons were born. She was a 50-year member of the Fayette chapter of Eastern Star and a member of the World War I Auxiliary. Mrs. Thiele was preceded in death by her natural and adopted parents and her natural brother and sister, Earl and Namah Pederson. She is survived by her husband Walter, two sons, Merlyn of Brighton, Colorado and Curtis of Oelwein, two half sisters, Lillian (Pederson) Benz and Josephine (Pederson) Hammersburg, both of LaCrosse, Wis.; five grandchildren; one great grandson and nieces and nephews. Interment was at Long Grove Cemetery in Maynard. **** Note from contributor/distant cousin Trying to piece this family together, I look at the 1895 Iowa State Census and find Ed H Peterson age 39 born in Norway in Fremont, Benton, Iowa. Also found is Mabel Peterson age 1 born in Benton County, IA living in Fremont, Benton. Samuel White, born in Pennsylvania about 1865 is her adoptive father. In the 1900 census for Iowa, Fayette, Fairfield, District 72 we have Samuel and Minnie White with daughter Mable born Mar 1894
