Mabel and her late husband, Dr. Willis Wirth, lived in the Washington, D.C. area before retiring to Gainesville, Florida in 1984. Friends always admired her collection of original classical art copies. Ballroom dancing with her late husband, Dr. Willis Wirth, and recently with companion Bob Cook was always a passion. She was an avid lover of playing Bridge. Mabel always looked forward to her many world travels, especially on cruise ships. She always enjoyed the Key West Symphony, The Pops, Impromptu Concerts and local theaters where she chose the first row as her first choice. She is survived by her 3 children - Stephen L. Petranek of Waterford, Virginia, Gary L. Petranek of Silver Spring, Maryland, Kathleen Moody (Dick) of Key West, Florida, 3 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central in Gainesville, Florida, on Saturday, August 28th, 2010.
