Description	:	Mabel Brown was born to Olaus and Hulda Hanson on June 9, 1906. They lived on a farm 11/2 miles north of Mission Hill, South Dakota. She was the fifth child of ten sisters and brothers. Mable was baptized and confirmed in Vangen Lutheran Church, where her mother was organist. Mabel married Earl H. Brown on November 27th in 1928. They lived on a farm 11/2 miles north of Mission Hill, South Dakota. She was the fifth child of ten sisters and brothers. Mable was baptized and confirmed in Vangen Lutheran Church, where her mother was organist. Mabel married Earl H. Brown on November 27th in 1928. Three children were born to them; Erlyn Mae (Brown) Gardner, Keith Eugene (wife, Joan) Brown, and Enid Ruth (Brown) Johnson. Mabel joined First Lutheran Church in 1942 and was active in the music ministry and the Ruth and Esther Circles as well as volunteering in the church office each week. She loved her church. Mabel enjoyed singing, writing, and memorizing poetry and scripture. Her great happiness was to be with her family which she called her “precious jewels” comprised of 18 Grandchildren, 53 Great Grandchildren, and 21 Great Great Grandchildren. Mabel lived a long and meaningful life and joined her Savior on Thursday, May 28, 2009. She will be remembered for her deep faith and positive outlook on life. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, 13th and Main Ave. The family requests that memorial gifts be directed to First Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. - Miller Funeral Home
