Johnson Jr. Mrs. Grove, 89, widow of Jesse Barrett Grove, died Sunday at Camelot Hall Nursing Home in Harrisonburg. She was born April 19, 1895, at Marietta, Ga., and was the daughter of the late Frank Brumback and Callie Umphrey Forrer. Mrs. Grove had lived in Luray and later at Dayton, where her husband owned and operated a flour mill at Silver Lake. They moved to Harrisonburg in 1947 following the sale of Silver Lake. Mrs. Grove was a member of the Harrisonburg Baptist Church and Massanutton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a charter member of the Rockingham Memorial Hospital ladies auxiliary. On May 13,1913, she married Mr. Grove, who died Nov. 28,1980. Surviving are a son, Jesse B. Grove Jr. of Scottsville; a daughter, Elsie B. Long of Dayton; four grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. The body is at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home, but the family will receive friends at the Long home in Dayton. The family asked that donations be made to the Harrisonburg Baptist Church building fund or the ladies auxiliary of Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Daily News Record, Tue.
