Description	:	Mabel Viola Jucht was born February 6, 1915, to George and Weyelena (Fluth) Sievers on a farm west of Bridgewater, South Dakota. She began first grade speaking only low German and completed an eighth grade education in a country school where she soon learned English. She accepted Christ as her Savior and in June 1947 was baptized by Rev. G. W. Rutsch in Lake Hanson near Alexandria, South Dakota. Read More	Mabel Viola Jucht was born February 6, 1915, to George and Weyelena (Fluth) Sievers on a farm west of Bridgewater, South Dakota. She began first grade speaking only low German and completed an eighth grade education in a country school where she soon learned English. She accepted Christ as her Savior and in June 1947 was baptized by Rev. G. W. Rutsch in Lake Hanson near Alexandria, South Dakota. She was a faithful member of Plum Creek Baptist Church until its closing in 1997. When she was less able to walk, she enjoyed Dr. Harold Salem on TV Sunday mornings. She would say "It's just like Plum Creek." Mabel loved her chickens and had a special compassion for animals. In her later years they brought her much joy. Her grandchildren were very special to her, and in their younger years she often had all of them over to play together. She made them feel special and took extra efforts to make them home-made fudgesicles, popsicles, etc. She remembered many people's birthdays and enjoyed sending them cards. She always had a large garden from which she canned, cooked, and baked. She has left a legacy of Christian values for her children and their families. On March 4, 1940, she was united in marriage to Herbert Jucht. They shared life together for forty-five years until his sudden death on April 18, 1985. They began farming near Alexandria but in 1945 moved to the ol' Cutts' farm south of Emery where she lived with Larry, her son, until her death. Life was not easy those early years, but they conquered much adversity during that time. There were no cell phones, email, running water, nor TV, and electricity was generated with wind chargers. Horses were the mode of travel and were used in the fields to work the farm; cows were milked by hand and later with milking machines. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters: Esther Liberda and Norma Glanzer, and their husbands, Reinhard Liberda and Elmer Glanzer; one son-in-law, Richard Christiansen; and one grandson, Todd W. Kranzler. Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Dr. Janell (Dr. Ron) Beck – Lennox, SD, Marlene Bacon - Perris, CA, Roger (Janet) Jucht – Bridgewater, SD (who live on the farm where Mabel was born), and Larry Jucht – Emery, SD. Nine grandchildren: Lance Kranzler Christiansen, Trent Christiansen; Dr. Rachel Bacon (David) Reynaldo, Dr. Carrie Bacon Reizman, Amy Bacon; Glen Jucht, Kevin Jucht, Gail Jucht (John) Sievert, Karmen Jucht (Wade) Ten Napel and eleven great-grandchildren: Frances LeBlanc and Jonnie Jucht; Christian, Daniel, and Lauren Reynaldo; Noah and Ethan Reizman; Jack and Austin Sievert; and Taylor and Hudson Ten Napel.
