Description	:	Mabel Violet Benson was born at Beatrice, Nebraska, June 7th, 1889 (sic). Her father having died in 1903, the mother with her two daughters moved to Nelson in February 1904. Here Mabel grew into young womanhood, developing that loveliness of character which won her the friendship of everybody. On October 8th, 1905, she publicly confessed her faith in the Lord Jesus as her Savior and united with the Presbyterian church (sic). She was a true Christian after the Martha and Mary type, always willing to serve her Savior in any possible way; always dependable, always cheerful... Here Mabel grew into young womanhood, developing that loveliness of character which won her the friendship of everybody. On October 8th, 1905, she publicly confessed her faith in the Lord Jesus as her Savior and united with the Presbyterian church (sic). She was a true Christian after the Martha and Mary type, always willing to serve her Savior in any possible way; always dependable, always cheerful and loving. She was especially active in the Sunday School with the little people and will be greatly missed by all. But what a promotion her home going means to her! She was never very strong, yet always courageous in the face of her infirmities. She had reached the age of 24 years, 6 months and 19 days when God called her to the higher service on last Monday, a little before noon. She leaves her mother, sister and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral was held at the Presbyterian church (sic) on Thursday at half past ten o'clock. The many floral offerings bore testimony of the esteem in which she stood. Yet most of all, her triumphant faith in which she went home, gives comfort to those who are left.
