Description	:	A gloom was cast over Mirror and district when it became known of the death of Mrs. Mable Beck, of Calgary, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray, of Mirror. The deceased died on Wednesday evening at 6:15 p.m. She was 28 years 9 months old. Mrs. Beck was operated on for tumor on Nov. 14th, and then pleurisy of the heart set in which was the cause of her death. The remains were brought to Mirror today (Friday). Mirror Journal, November 27, 1914 ---------- Mrs. Mabel Beck, wife of Clarence Beck, of Armstrong, B.C. and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Ray, of Mirror, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, Nov. 25th, at the Holy Cross Hospital, at Calgary... She was born at Maple Landing, Iowa, Feb. 2nd, 1885, was united in marriage to Clarence L. Beck at Beebeetown, Iowa, December 10th, 1902. In January, 1903, she came to Canada with her husband and parents and resided on a homestead, 3 1/4 miles from Lamberton. Six years ago she went with her husband to Grant's Pass, Oregon, where they lived for two years, thence to Armstrong, B.C., where she remained until coming to Calgary. Mabel joined the Methodist church when a child, and gave her heart to God. She was a noble Christian woman, and prepared to meet her God... Much sympathy is extened to the sorrowing husband and Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Ray and family. Peaceful be thy silent slumber, Peaceful in they grave so low, Thou no more will join our number, Thou no more our sorrows know.
