Description	:	Easley Maca Lula Powell Hinton, 86, of 157 Hinton Road, died Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Laurel Hill Nursing Center. Born in Oconee County, Mrs. Hinton was a daughter of the late Samuel L. and Mabell Spencer Powell. She was a graduate of Limestone College, and received her Master's Degree from Furman University. Mrs. Hinton retired as a principal with Greenville County Schools after thirty-five years of service. She was a member of Georges Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Robert Edward Hinton, of the home; a son, Robert E. Hinton III, and his wife, Rebecca B., of Easley; two brothers, Samuel L. Powell Jr., of Chamblee, Ga., and Robert A. Powell, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three sisters, Genevieve Collins, of Greer, Leontine McCormick, of Loris, and Christobel Hammett, of Anderson; and four grandchildren, Sarah E. Hinton, Erin M. Hinton, Mary A. Hinton and Jerry R. Hinton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Georges Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Martin Atkins officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. today, and will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Family members are at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Building Fund of Georges Creek Baptist Church, 1991 Saluda Dam Road, Easley, SC 29640.
