He was born in Aynor, a son of the late Jim and Elizabeth Grainger Carroll. Read More	MYRTLE BEACH _ Mack Neal Carroll, 81, of North Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach, died Friday, April 16, 1999, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center after an illness. He was born in Aynor, a son of the late Jim and Elizabeth Grainger Carroll. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II and a member of First United Methodist Church and the Hut Bible Class in Conway. After the war, Mr. Carroll purchased Moore's Restaurant in Homewood. He then built Crescent Pines Motel in Homewood and founded Carroll Motors in Conway. He was the owner of the Comet Motel, the Polynesian Beach and Golf Resort, and Bahama Motel in Myrtle Beach. He was a member of Conway Masonic Lodge No. 65 AFM; the Scottish Rite; Omar Temple of the Shrine; and the Horry Shrine Club. He was a member of The Dunes Golf and Beach Club, National Wild Turkey Federation and the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include his wife, Tula Petros Carroll of Myrtle Beach; two sons, Boyd M. Carroll Sr. of Conway and Mack N. Carroll II of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter, Pat C. Carusco of Davidson, N.C.; three stepdaughters, Sherri Harris Simmons of Pinnacle, N.C., Esther Michele Harris of Kingston Springs, Tenn., and Catherine Harris Pauli of Burlington, Vt.; a brother, Winfred Carroll of Aynor; three sisters, Edith Orndoff of Conway, Elsie Dowless of Bladenboro, NC, and Mattie Grainger of Aynor; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel. The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Conway. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Family Life Center, PO Box 58, Conway 29528.
