Description	:	Mack Reed, 66, prominent Kellogg resident, died early Friday at a Des Moines hospital. Funeral services were held this afternoon (Monday) from St. Paul's Lutheran church in Kellogg. Burial was in Our Silent City cemetery there. The son of A.L. and Elizabeth Parmley Reed, he was born Jan. 31, 1896, in Kellogg and educated in the schools of that community. During World War I he served with the famous Rainbow Division and was a member of the Col. E.R. Bennett Chapter of the Des Moines Rainbow Division of Veterans. He also was a member of the Veterans Relief Board, commissioner of the Iowa Assn. of the County Soldiers Relief, and the Iowa Bonus Board. He belonged to St. Paul's Lutheran church in Kellogg, the Kellogg Cemetery Assn., Richland Grange, and was a longtime member of and past commander of the Kellogg American Legion. Survivors include his widow Elsie; a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Lois) Pickles of Kellogg; two sons, Dallas of Chester and Arnold of Cumberland; a step-son, Marion Dale of Marengo; nine grandchildren; and three sisters--Mrs. John Youngkin of Monroe, Mrs. Elsie Balmer of Snohomish, Wash., and Mrs. Eva Vice of Everett, Wash. Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
