Description	:	PETERSHAM, April 27 - Word is received of the death of MacLeod Lovell Douthit, 40, radio engineer, of Petersham, in a Bridgeport Hospital where he had been a patient for about six weeks. he was a native of Shelby, Ill., and had resided in this town for several years. he was a graduate of Harvard University and formerly taught school in the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, N.Y. Besides his widow, Charlotte (Wilder) Douthit, he leaves two children, Robert C. and Carolyn L. Douthit, of Petersham, his mother, Mrs. Robert Douthit and and a sister, Mrs. John L. Beardsley, both of Bridgeport, Conn. Burial will be in Petersham. Evening Gazette: April 27, 1939. Macleod L. Douthit, 40, of Petersham, Mass., a former resident of this city and a former employee of the General Electric Company, died Wednesday in St. Vincent's Hospital at Bridgeport, Conn. He was a graduate of Harvard University in the class of 1923, and was employed at the G.E. Plant here from 1924 to 1930, when he left the city to go to Camden, N.J., where he was employed by the RCA Manufacturing Company. He was a member of New Hope Lodge, 730, F. and A.M., of this city., a member of the A Coustical Society and an associate member of the Institute of Radio Engineers. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Charlotte S. Douthit; two children, Robert C. Douthit and Carolyn L. Douthit of Petersham; his mother, Mrs. Robert C. Douthit, and a sister, Mrs. John L. Beardsley of Bridgeport, Conn. The body will be cremated and private burial services will be held in Petersham. Daily Gazette: April 28, 1939.
