Born Feb. 27, 1926, in Van Buren County, she was the daughter of Samuel and Sadie Garrett Nelson. She married Frederic J. Eden June 5, 1949 at Milton. She and her husband lived their married life in Harrisburg township, north of Bonaparte. She was a graduate of Milton High School and attended Parsons College, Fairfield. She was a school teacher. Surviving are her husband, Frederic; one daughter, Cathy Schmitt, Hillsboro; two sons, Richard Eden and John Eden, both of Bonaparte; one sister, Catherine Bickel, Springfield, Mo.; four brothers, Sam Nelson, Jr., Bonaparte, Archie Nelson, Albia, LeRoy Nelson, Blakesburg, and Pete Nelson, Milton; and eight grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua. The service for Mrs. Eden will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Farmington United Methodist Church with the Revs. James Rozendaal and Kenneth Harden officiating. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery, north of Bonaparte.
