Read More	Madelyn Ida Farthing, 83, rural Wabash, died at 5:10 am Monday, May 12, 2003 at Lutheran Hospital. She was born on Sept 14, 1919, in Huntington county, to Verle and Mary (Allred) Haines. She married Claude Farthing on March 28, 1948, in Columbia City. He died on May 25, 1973. She had lived in Wabash County for 51 years. She retired from General Tire after 30 years and began taking organ lessons. She was a 30-year member of the Dora Christian Church, where she was the organist and a member of the Dora Ladies Aid. She also was a member of the Dora Monthly Birthday Breakfast Club, Soars Retirement Club, and was an active member of the Wabash Chapter of AARP. He name lives on through her great-great-granddaughter, Madelyn Lloyd. Also surviving are a daughter; two step-daughters; a sister, Ruth Ellen Keefer, Wabash; a brother, Lee (Edith) Haines, Rockaway Beach, Ore; a special friend, George Young, Marion; 15 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. A stepson and one grandson are deceased. Services will be at 10:30 am Friday at the Dora Christian Church. Bill Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery, Lincolnville. Friends may call from 2-8 pm Thursday at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Avenue Chapel. Preferred memorials are to the Dora Christian Church Building Fund.
