Description	:	Magdalena Bieber, 92, Hosmer, SD, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen, SD. Her funeral service will be Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Hosmer, with Pastor Robin Wanner-Schaunaman officiating. Burial follows at Bethany Cemetery, Hosmer. Magdalena Guthmiller, daughter of Christina (Hoff) and Fredrick Guthmiller, was born at her parent's farm 5 miles east and 1 mile north of Hosmer on May 19, 1914. She attended Sangamon TWSHP Rural School through the 8th grade. Following her schooling, she stayed and helped on the farm. She married Jacob Bieber at Hosmer on October 18, 1936. They farmed one mile east of where Maggie was born. In December 1977, they retired and moved into Hosmer. Jacob died May 24, 1978. Maggie continued living in Hosmer and since December 2004, had resided at the Hosmer Senior Citizens Home. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hosmer, the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (WELCA), and the Hosmer Senior Citizens. Her hobbies included reading and quilting. Magdalena is survived by 1 son Don (Carol) Bieber of Bismarck, ND; 1 daughter Janice Bucklew of Higginsville, MO; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 9 sisters (1 of which was in infancy), and 2 brothers (one in infancy). Honorary bearers will be Troy Bucklew and Valerie Coggin of Neosho, MO., Tami Butts of Independence, Mo., and Shona Sharp of Pierce City, MO. Casketbearers will be Gerry Guthmiller of Jamestown, ND, Kyle Bieber of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Delbert Gienger of Hosmer, Wes Gienger of Aberdeen, Mark Bieber of Bismarck, and Stanley Zimmer of Bowdle, SD. Lien Funeral Home, Bowdle, is in charge of arrangements.
