A prayer service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Burial will follow the prayer service in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Duane Tinklenberg officiating. Magdalena Rensink Fedders was born Dec. 7, 1921, to Peter Sr. and Tryntje (Schelling) Moerman on a farm near Ireton, Iowa. On Jan. 31, 1940, Magdalena married William Rensink Jr. in Sioux Center. The couple farmed and raised their family northeast of Sioux Center. She enjoyed canning vegetables, fruits and meats. William passed away, on Oct. 16, 1967, from a heart attack at age 48. Magdalena stayed on the farm until November 1971, at which time she moved into her mother's Sioux Center home following her mother's death. She worked for Sioux Center Community Hospital as an aid in the kitchen. On May 21, 1976, Magdalena married Dick Fedders. The couple lived on Dick's farm west of Sioux Center. She enjoyed playing piano and being a housewife. In 1989, the couple moved back to the Sioux Center house to enjoy retirement and to spend time with their many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dick passed away May 15, 1994, after falling into a ditch fire on his farm. Magdalena moved into Crown Pointe Assisted Living on March 10, 2005, after losing part of her eyesight due to a stroke. A second stroke later that year caused her to be declared legally blind. She was a resident of Royale Meadows Care Center since September 2005. Magdalena was an inspiration to the RNs and CNAs at Royale Meadows. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Survivors include three sons, Willard Rensink of Sioux Center, Phillip (Millie) Rensink of Ireton and Larry (Danita) Rensink of Corydon, Iowa; two daughters, Marilyn King of Sheldon, Iowa, and Arlene (Dennis) Noack of Sheldon; a daughter-in-law, Faye (Al) Vander Lugt of Maurice, Iowa; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Peter Jr. (Catherine) Moerman of Rock Valley, Iowa, and Paul (Darlene) Moerman of Plano, Texas; three sisters, Henrietta Olsen of Sioux Center, Nellie Rodenburgh of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Dena Cuperus of Jenison, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Alice Moerman of Sioux Center; from the Fedders family are four stepsons, Marvin (Glenda) Fedders of Le Mars, Iowa, Vern (Mary) Fedders of Le Mars, Merle (Guiselle) Fedders of Meadville, Pa., and Calvin Fedders of Kansas City, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Esther (Rev. Anthony) Louwerse of Holland, Mich., and Lorraine (Darwin) Post of Sioux Center; 16 step-grandchildren; 33 stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, William Rensink and Dick Fedders; a son, Eugene Rensink; an infant daughter, Carla; a daughter-in-law, Gracia Rensink; a son-in-law, Gary King; a grandson, Steven Rensink; a grandson-in-law, Marty Coleman; three great-grandchildren; six brothers, Cornelius (Marie) Moerman, John (Shirley) Moerman, Adrian (Eleanor) Moerman, William Moerman, Arie Moerman and Leonard Moerman; a sister, Katherine Moerman; four brothers-in-law, Lane Attema, Henry Olsen, Jack Rodenburgh and Elmer Cuperus; and a stepgrandson, Kevin Post. Memorials may be directed to Sioux Center Christian School or Royale Meadows Care Center c/o Sioux Center Community Hospital Foundation.
