Description	:	Dec 31, 1903: Christmas morning Mrs Magdelina Weber met a sad, almost sudden death. She and her husband Adam were walking from their home west of town to early Mass at the Catholic church, coming down the railroad track. As they were near the switch yard a train was noticed coming from the west and the glare of the headlight made the train seem farther away than it was. Read More	Dec 31, 1903: Christmas morning Mrs Magdelina Weber met a sad, almost sudden death. She and her husband Adam were walking from their home west of town to early Mass at the Catholic church, coming down the railroad track. As they were near the switch yard a train was noticed coming from the west and the glare of the headlight made the train seem farther away than it was. Mr Weber was waling on the north side of the track and she on the south. Just after corssing the cattle guard she attempted to cross over to her husband and in doing so was struck by the piolet beam just as she was stepping off the ballast. She was cut and bruised considerably about the head and body, and made unconscious. She was taken to V. Highberger's home where she died in early fornoon. Mr Weber was carring a lantern and thought the engineer saw them. He neither whistled or rung the bell. The fireman saw the accident and the train stipped at the depot where the report was made. Mrs Weber was 68 years old and feeble. Mr Weber when leaving the track turned his face to the north to avoid the smoke and dust and supposed Mrs Weber was at his side and learned nothing of the accident until the train passed by. Mrs Weber was the mother of three children all grown, Mrs Peter Legill, Matt and Peter Weber of here. Her remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery Sunday after Requiem Mass at the Catholic church.
