Description	:	Contributor Nancy Ziemba Gleaton provided the following obituary: St. Matthews, Oct. 3 - Mrs. Maggie Golson Stabler, 71, widow of J. S. Stabler, died at 8 a.m. today in her home in the Wesley Chapel community. She had been in failing health for several years. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, the Rev. J. R. Dennis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, directed by Dukes Harley Funeral Home. Mrs. Stabler was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late William Wesley and Mary Hester Wannamakmer Staley. She was a life long member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church and a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service. Surviving are the following children by her first husband, the late John L. Golson: Orin Golson and Mrs. Philip Smoak, both of Orangeburg and Mrs. Jack Bradley, Columbia. Also surviving are the following children by the late J. S. Stabler: J. S. Stabler Jr., William Wesley Stabler and Mrs. Guy Wannamaker, all of St. Matthews; Lt. Col. J. Peeler Stabler, U.S. Army stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas City, Kan.; Mrs. Gregg Riley, Swansea, and Mrs. George Freeman, Williston. Also surviving are the following stepchildren: M. D. Stabler, Winston-Salem, N.C., Delbert Stabler, Union; Mrs. E. P. Cook, Eau Gallie, Fla.; J. C. Stabler, Hendersonville, N.C.; Mrs. G. Dewey Clark, Manning; P. W. Stabler, Welcome, N.C., and Mrs. W. M. Rising, Detroit, Mich. Five brothers of Bucksport, and H. S. Staley, St. Matthews, and H. T. Staley, Orangeburg; a sister, Mrs C. R.
