Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Feb 12,1932 - pg 1 Mrs. Mahala Brooks Buried in Edgar ---- Mahala Frances Brunner was born in Dewitt County, Illinois, October 3, 1848, and departed this life February 8, 1932, at the age of 83 years, 4 months, 5 days. She was united in marriage to Darius W Brooks Feb 28, 1867, to which union nine children were born; Lizzie Taylor of Edgar, Flo Fuller of Hastings, Iva Grossman of Edgar, Etta Hattan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Floyd Brooks of Hastings, Ross Brooks of Angus, Earl Brooks of Omaha. These seven children, 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one sister of Missouri, two brothers of Illinois and a host of friends survive. Her husband and two daughters preceded her in death. She came to Nebraska in the winter of 1875. When only a girl she confessed her faith in Christ and joined the Christian Church. After moving to Angus she united with the United Brethren Church and was a devoted and faithful member until her crowning and was loved by all that knew her. Let me but feel Thy hand, Thy features see, I shall emerge in happiness with Thee. Funeral services were held from the Edgar Methodist Church Wednesday, February 10, at 11:00 a.m.. Rev Etherton of Angus in charge assisted by Rev Adams of Hastings. A. Cate, Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Claus Shipley, Oak; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Hansen, Hastings; Rev Jason Adams, Hastings, and many friends and relatives from Angus where the deceased formerly resided.
