Description	:	Fourth of five children and second daughter born to John Calhoun Parish and Mary Adella McNeill. She was named after her maternal grandmother, Mahala Fritz Randolph. She and her sister Katie lived with their parents until their deaths. By all accounts, she was an educated woman for her time, having had a year of college. After her parents' deaths, she supported herself and sister Katie by working as a telephone operator in Winston-Salem. She died, age 73, and was buried somewhere near her family in Carolina Presbyterian Cemeterty on Oct 2 1966.
