Description	:	Hartland- M. Raymond Corson, 78, died peacefully on Saturday, April 26, at his home in Hartland. He was born on April 24, 1936, in Brighton, Maine, the son of Mahlon and Louise (Post) Corson Sr. Raymond served our country in the United States National Guard. He was employed for over 30 years at the Irving Tanning Company in Hartland and also spent time working in the woods. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a very talented mechanic. Raymond Corson, 78, died peacefully on Saturday, April 26, at his home in Hartland. He was born on April 24, 1936, in Brighton, Maine, the son of Mahlon and Louise (Post) Corson Sr. Raymond served our country in the United States National Guard. He was employed for over 30 years at the Irving Tanning Company in Hartland and also spent time working in the woods. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a very talented mechanic. He enjoyed visiting with his friends and loved being surrounded by his family. He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association and will be lovingly remembered. He is survived by his children, Timothy Corson and his wife, Estella, of Corinna, Angela Wentworth and her significant other, Skeet Wentworth, of Skowhegan and Danny Corson and his companion, Missy Day, of West Athens; several grandchildren, Tonja Dodge, Joey Dodge, Desiree Sevon, Olivia Steenchifeld, Lee Woodman, Heather Dillingham, Rebecca Corson, Brittany (Corson) Woodman, Ella Lyon and Essa Lyon; several great grandchildren; his sister, Beatrice Linkletter of Harmony; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Sandra Gifford; his second wife, Margo Corson; a daughter, Tammy Roberts; and two brothers, Linwood Corson and James Corson. A memorial service will be held at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, in Pittsfield. A committal service with military honors will be held in the summer at the Mt. Rest Cemetery, Academy Street in Athens. (Morning Sentinel 4/29/2014)
