| Description | : | CSA Wed to Elizabeth A. Brown. In 1857 he went with a South Carolina Company to Kansas, anticipating the trouble that came with Kansas entering the Union. After a year he returned home to farm until the War came. An ardent secessionist, he raised a company, volunteering to his native state. When his company was dissolved, he joined the 9th Regiment of South Carolina Volunteers and went to fight in Virginia. He was wounded in the foot at Seven Pines, and in the ankle at Seven Days.
