| Description | : | Sherman "Doc" William Compton, of Lewes, died Friday in Harbor Health Care Center, his residence sing Dec 1991. Mr. Compton retired from the Army in 1953. He began his military career in the calvary at Fort Sill, OK., where he was born and raised. He served under Gen. George S. Patton. He was a civil engineer at Dover Air Force Base and a 32nd degree Mason. His wife of 41 years, Clara Walls Compton died in 1987. Surviving are his wife, Edith of Seaford, a daughter Nance E.
