Description	:	M. C. TURNER FUNERAL THURS. M. C. (Crit) Turner, 86, 1104 7th Ave, N., Clear Lake, died Sunday, Mar. 10 at a Clear Lake nursing home following an illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home with Dr. John E. DeLong of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday until time of service. Major Crittendon Turner was born August 2, 1881, at Bethany, and spent some time in Des Moines, coming to Clear Lake in 1911. He was married to Cecil May Leach on August 30, 1911, and they made their home in Clear Lake since that time. Mrs. Turner died in 1967. Mr. Turner was a paint contractor and paper hanger in Clear Lake for over 50 years and was known over a wide area for his art of making violins and repairing them. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Luella) Banks, Clear Lake; and a son, William F. Turner, Mason City; two sisters, Mrs. Chester Teeter, Ottumwa, and Mrs. Emma Thomas, Burlington; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers selected were Kenneth Lincicum, Grant Fox, Charles F. Rickard, Austin O. Pitkin, Ray L. Ebaugh and Frank Wilder. NOTE – Mr. Turner was born August 2, 1881 and died March 10, 1968.
