Description	:	Malcolm "Mac" Lee Loy, 84, formerly of Jefferson, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and dairy farmer, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, December 19, 2014. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born as a twin on December 31, 1929, in Montgomery County, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph Spencer and Mary Imogene (Burdette) Loy. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born as a twin on December 31, 1929, in Montgomery County, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph Spencer and Mary Imogene (Burdette) Loy. He was predeceased by his wife, Hattie R. (Smith) Loy on June 24, 2012. Malcolm and Hattie married on December 30, 1951. They set-up housekeeping in Jefferson, MD, on the farm of Hattie's father, Oscar C. Smith. There, they would farm with Oscar until 1963, when they moved to the "Old Fry Farm", where they would farm until 2007. In 2007, Malcolm and Hattie moved to Brunswick, where they resided until moving to Sunrise of Frederick in 2012. Malcolm was very happy at Sunrise and received wonderful care there for two-and-a-half-years. Malcolm was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jefferson, MD. Malcolm and his wife were avid dairy farmers in the Jefferson area and took great pride in farming. Malcolm was a member of the National, State, and Frederick County Farm Bureau and the National Holstein Association. He enjoyed taking care of his lawn, fishing, and gardening. From his garden, he loved giving vegetables to family and friends. He is survived by three daughters, Diana Price and husband, Michael, of Fayetteville, PA, Sharon Maloney of VA, and Marsha Sowers and husband, Darren, of Brunswick, MD; nine grandchildren, Justin Price and his wife, UnKyong, of Walnut Creek, CA, Carrie Price of Owings Mills, MD, Kelli Dick and husband, B.J., of Brunswick, Jennifer Fogle and husband, Nat, of Ranson, WV, Andrew Maloney and fiancée, Rachel Herger of Leesburg, VA, Lee Sigler and fiancée, Heather Doody, of Brunswick, David Sowers and wife, Sarah, of Boonsboro, MD, Chelsea Herdt and husband, Kyle, of Walkersville, MD, and Cassie Sowers of Brunswick. His greatest joy was his seven great-grandchildren who never failed to bring a smile to his face. Pap Pap will be fondly remembered by, Natalee and Karlee Sigler, Olivia Kline, Jenna and Megan Dick, Bryant Fogle, Logan Herdt , and a baby boy on the way, Mac Sowers. Malcolm would surely have been pleased with the name. He is also survived by his twin brother, Donald Loy, of Louisa, VA; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Malcolm will also be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law, Clayton Smith and his wife, Shirley. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son, Dennis C. Loy; two sisters, Esther Poole and Mary Ashcraft; and six brothers, Franklin, Ernest, Rudell, Ralph, Ray, and Albert Loy. A funeral ceremony will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3864 Jefferson Pike, Jefferson, MD 21755. Rev. Katrina Holland will officiate. Final-resting place ceremonies will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2014, at the Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick, MD 21716 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. For the convenience of family and friends, visitors will be welcomed on Friday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Stauffer's, Brunswick.
